How is your week going?
I’ve been a bit quiet over here, working in the shadows getting things done around the house.
My project for today was painting a chalkboard section on the side of our new (read “used cheap”) fridge together with my mum and also painting my two new succulent pots. One of them stung me few times so I already decided it will have a really ugly name, like Gustav. (sorry if your name is Gustav, but have a chat with your parents and ask “why”?)
Once they dry up, I will write up their name and display these two buddies on my night table, next to my limited makeup selection, so they get dust of powder and glitter every now and then.
Even with that, they should pretty much survive even nuclear catastrophe. That was my criteria for getting a plant. Something I can talk to, but doesn’t die too easily.
But that’s not why we’re here. I’m sure you have more interesting things to do than to read about the birth of Gustav and his little brother. Here is something worth your time – how about catching beautiful sunsets in Akamas while enjoying a glass of wine?
On a spontaneous whim, after a beautiful farewell picnic with our friends, we headed out towards St George village (Cyprus) and turn right just when the sign pointed to Akamas.
At the edge of the civilization, you will find a lovely little place called Sea Rays, with wonderful simple home food and spectacular views.
Mother Nature was throwing quite a show with a spectacular display of 50 shades of green, scent of spring and the buzz of bees, the sun was promising a beautiful colour bonanza and we were in the mood to simply sit and soak it all in.
Our little guy was busy collecting artifacts and homeless snail shells, while me and my other half reflected on how good life can feel sometimes.
No matter where you are, remember to appreciate what you have, clean air you breath and people who surround you.
