Fig Tree Bay, Protaras<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most popular beaches in the area, <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyprusalive.com\/en\/location\/fig-tree-bay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fig Tree Bay<\/a> certainly lives up to its reputation of looking more like a Caribbean paradise than a Mediterranean island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beach stretch itself is not long, so it does get crowded very fast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get your best snaps without other people in the image, head there early in the morning (best before sunrise) to capture gorgeous light and an empty beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re staying in a hotel in the city, it&#8217;s easier to get yourself to the spot without having to drive a long time to get there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Petra_Tou_Romiou_Paphos\"><\/span>2. Petra Tou Romiou, Paphos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another place that&#8217;s probably already on your itinerary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Petra_tou_Romiou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Petra tou Romiou<\/a> is located just off the main highway between Paphos and Limassol, with easy access for parking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In summer, the sun sets almost right behind the rocks and most tourists stay there during the day, so at sunset, it tends to be less busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter how tempting, it&#8217;s forbidden to climb on the rock itself and I wouldn&#8217;t recommend it. I&#8217;ve seen lots of people taking silly risks just for a photo from the top of the rock, and it&#8217;s certainly not worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just further down the beach path is a short <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/cyprus\/paphos\/avakas-gorge\/\">hiking<\/a> route that will take you up to the hill to the gorgeous viewing point pictured below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My photos were taken <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/december-weather-cyprus\/\">during winter<\/a>, so the sunset was further away from Petra tou Romiou, but in summer it&#8217;s almost directly opposite the rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/winter-limassol-december-17.jpg\" alt=\"cyprus coastline\" class=\"wp-image-15908\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/winter-limassol-december-17.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/winter-limassol-december-17-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/winter-limassol-december-17-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><div data-gyg-href=\"https:\/\/widget.getyourguide.com\/default\/activites.frame\" data-gyg-locale-code=\"en-US\" data-gyg-widget=\"activities\" data-gyg-number-of-items=\"3\" data-gyg-partner-id=\"CPO27MV\" data-gyg-q=\"paphos\"><\/div><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Cape_Greco_Protaras\"><\/span>3. Cape Greco, Protaras<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chooseyourcyprus.com\/discover-cyprus\/cape-greko-national-forest-park.html\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Cape Greco is a national park<\/a> at the edge of Protaras and also one of the popular tourist hot spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re not ready to throw yourself off the rocks into the crystal clear waters, it&#8217;s fun just to sit there and watching people do exactly that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The white-washed rocks provide gorgeous contrast with the colour of the water and at sunset, the sky turns into shades of pink and purple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a bit of fun, rent a quad bike to get there and go wild. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Akamas_Peninsula_Paphos_District\"><\/span>4. Akamas Peninsula, Paphos District<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This must be my favourite spot for sunset photos &#8211; I used to do a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/picnic-coral-bay\/\">sunset picnics<\/a> in here as it&#8217;s about 30 minutes drive away from Peyia (close to Paphos). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what time of the year you arrive, it&#8217;s pretty much empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steep cliffs make a wonderful viewing point to watch the sunset and at each turn provide unique photo opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you drive further into the peninsula, you can get to Lara Beach or Blue Lagoon for even more spectacular views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/akamas-peninsula-picnic-1-8.jpg\" alt=\"sunset picnic\" class=\"wp-image-12762\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/akamas-peninsula-picnic-1-8.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/akamas-peninsula-picnic-1-8-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/akamas-peninsula-picnic-1-8-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Sea_Caves_Ayia_Napa_%E2%80%93_Peyia\"><\/span>5. Sea Caves, Ayia Napa &#8211; Peyia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Probably the most photographed spot on the island, the <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loveayianapa.com\/ayia-napa-sea-caves.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">sea caves near Ayia Napa<\/a> are a draw for thousands of tourists each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naturally formed caves in white-washed rocks provide the perfect photo frame that&#8217;s been so frequently captured on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you find yourself on the other side of the island in <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/cyprus-things-to-do-paphos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paphos<\/a>, you don&#8217;t have to despair &#8211; although less know and perhaps also impressive, there is an area with sea caves also near Peyia (pictured below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get there in time for sunset and wait for nature to do its magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1800\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15200\" style=\"width:700px\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2-750x1125.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2-700x1050.jpg 700w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/cyprus-october-2018-2-800x1200.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Blue_Lagoon_Akamas_Peninsula\"><\/span>6. Paphos Old Town<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re in for a bit of a city vibe with a lot of charm, <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/suite-48-paphos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paphos<\/a> Old town is the place to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cute little tavernas and coffee shops stretch along the narrow streets, shaded under trees and away from the busy roads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though a lot of the buildings still look like a set of a horror movie, there&#8217;s been a lot of work done in the old town to bring its old charm back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find gorgeous street art, get lost in the bazaar market area, and admire the views towards the coast from high up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head to <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/muse-restaurant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Muse Cafe Restaurant <\/a>for dinner to enjoy breath-taking sunset views along with delicious food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/paphos-old-town-cyprus-1-15.jpg\" alt=\"paphos old town\" class=\"wp-image-12986\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/paphos-old-town-cyprus-1-15.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/paphos-old-town-cyprus-1-15-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/paphos-old-town-cyprus-1-15-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8_Sea_You_Beach_Bar_Other_Beach_Bars_%E2%80%93_Paphos\"><\/span>8. Sea You Beach Bar (&amp; Other Beach Bars) &#8211; Paphos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Also known as the best place to watch the sunset in Paphos, <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/sea-beach-bar-potima-bay-paphos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sea You Beach Bar<\/a> is just outside of Kissonerga village, on your way to <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/guide-coral-bay-cyprus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coral Bay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loved by locals and tourists alike, this place has boho vibes written all over it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the decor wasn&#8217;t enough, take a few steps and you will find yourself right at the beach.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At sunset, the place turns into a sea of mobile phones trying to capture the best sunset photo. Troodos Villages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Away from the tall rising buildings, crowded beaches, and flashy hotels, you will find small old villages dotted around the side of the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only do they provide the perfect escape from the summer heat, but also the perfect photography backdrop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the most photogenic include Omodos (which has a winery and a monastery), Platres, Kalopanayiotis, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/kakopetria-cyprus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kakopetria<\/a> (last one most popular by locals). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/omodos-cyprus-1-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14918\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/omodos-cyprus-1-10.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/omodos-cyprus-1-10-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/omodos-cyprus-1-10-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10_Nicosia_Old_Town\"><\/span>10. Agios Georgios, Paphos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The small fishing village of <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/agios-georgios\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Agios Georgios<\/a> just outside of Paphos is a surprising find that&#8217;s well worth the drive just for the views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The water here is so clear you can see all the rocks on the seafloor and the colourful fishing boats are beautiful backdrops for photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further down the coastline, you will discover small naturally formed lagoons and caves carved into white rocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there is no beach to speak of, you can get adventurous and find your own way to the water somewhere along the coastline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/st-george-cyprus-5.jpg\" alt=\"moving to cyprus expectations vs reality\" class=\"wp-image-15375\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/st-george-cyprus-5.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/st-george-cyprus-5-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/st-george-cyprus-5-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"12_Konnos_Bay_Protaras\"><\/span>12. Konnos Bay, Protaras<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the prettiest beaches on the island, you can&#8217;t miss visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyprusisland.net\/cyprus-beaches\/konnos-bay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Konnos Bay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 2km away from Cape Greco, the sandy beach has perfect swimming conditions even for inexperienced swimmers and the surrounding cliffs provide a stunning vantage point to capture some amazing shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"13_Grape_by_the_Sea_Kato_Pyrgos\"><\/span>13. Grape by the Sea, Kato Pyrgos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re up for a road trip, head to Kato Pyrgos (close to the borders with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Northern_Cyprus\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Northern Cyprus<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This small village is home to probably the best beach restaurant on the island &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/grape-by-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grape by the Sea<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located just at the end of the village, the simple setting offers spectacular views of Turkey and uninterrupted sea views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive from Polis towards Kato Pyrgos is an experience in itself &#8211; stunning views from everywhere the road, dramatic cliff drops, and another hidden gem on the way &#8211; Koullas Sandwiches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kato-pyrgos-cyprus-22.jpg\" alt=\"grape by the sea\" class=\"wp-image-16949\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kato-pyrgos-cyprus-22.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kato-pyrgos-cyprus-22-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyprusescape.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kato-pyrgos-cyprus-22-700x1050.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"14_Oniro_by_the_Sea_Paphos\"><\/span>14.
