In that case, you came to the right place!
I have been living in Paphos for over 6.5 years, and in this article I will share my personal favourites and some local hidden gems that will allow you to explore Paphos in a more authentic way.
Let’s dive in and see what Paphos has to offer!
Best Things To Do in Paphos in July
1. Paphos Archaeological Park
For history lovers who cannot afford to ignore any world heritage site worth visiting, a trip to Paphos Archaeological Park would be very much appropriate.
The park offers gorgeous examples of Roman mosaics, remains of Roman villas and even an amphitheater.
The place is quite big and there are no places to sit down or get refreshments, so take a bottle of water with you and avoid visiting in the middle of the day in summer months.

2. Tombs of the Kings
Another significant historical site is Tombs of the Kings. These burial sites were dug out from solid rock and date back to 4th century B.C.
Though the name might suggest that kings were buried here, it’s actually a resting place for nobles, who had enough money to pay for such a spectacular resting place.
These pleasantly cool underground chambers are a welcomed relief from the scorching heat of July.

3. Coral Bay
Beach lovers highly favor this month as one can effectively enjoy Coral Bay, which is one of the best beaches in Paphos.
Best for swimming, sunbathing or water sports, Coral Bay should be definitely on your bucket list for Paphos. If you prefer a more quiet spot with wider accessibility of restaurants, Coralia Beach nearby is a great option.
How to Get There From Paphos Airport:
Take the 612 bus from the airport to Paphos Harbour (Kato Paphos). From the Harbour, switch to the 615 bus, which takes you directly to Coral Bay.
4. Lara Bay
If you prefer a little more space, and unspoiled nature, Lara Bay is the best choice.
This wide beach is said to be among the most beautiful on the island, and is also a breeding place for loggerhead and green turtles. Remember that you should not tamper with any turtle nests as it is illegal.
To get to Lara Bay, you will need an SUV or a quadbike rental, as the terrain is a little rough and a small low car might struggle to drive through the rocks.

Outdoor Adventures
5. Akamas Peninsula
Whether you love beautiful views, nature or simply a bit of green space, Akamas Peninsula is a must visit – its my favourite place in this part of the island.
In this harsh yet untamed area, you can go through various types of landscapes starting from rocky coastline and ending up with thick forests.
The Avakas Gorge stands out with its towering limestone walls and unique flora and fauna among other things. It’s a great place to do a little hike and hide from the sun.
If you love a bit of a challenge, the Aphrodite trail in Akamas is a great route which will take you to the top of the mountain offering stunning views of the coastline – certainly one for the bucket list!

6. Water Sports
Paphos’ location along the coast makes it perfect for water sports lovers.
There is something for everyone, whether you enjoy jet skiing or parasailing, or diving or scuba diving. Most of the watersports are available from Paphos Harbour or beaches of Kato Paphos, but you can find good options further afield in Coral Bay area.
Cultural Experiences
7. Kato Paphos Promenade
Stroll down the Kato Paphos Promenade, dotted with restaurants, cafes, and shops, making it a lively and enjoyable place for a walk.
You can enjoy local cuisine in a restaurant with a view, hop over to a local shop to buy some souvenirs, or take a stroll through the promenade at sunset.

8. Cypriot Villages
Traditional villages around Paphos are a great way to explore the island, especially if you focus on the nearby wine villages.
A pleasant escape from the crowds by the sea, these villages offer a chance to take a glimpse of the local life, experience a traditional meal in a local tavern, and allow you to explore the path less traveled.
Book wine tasting in the local wineries, my favourites around Paphos are Vouni Panayia Winery and Tsangarides Winery. Cyprus is known for their wines, and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
My favourite wine and winery with spectacular views is Kolios Winery – it’s a littler further away from Paphos, but well worth the drive. Book a mezze lunch in advance, prepared by the owners wine, and enjoy a tour of the winery followed by wine tasting.

Family Friendly Activities
9. Paphos Zoo
Paphos zoo is a great place to visit with kids, just keep in mind that the temperatures in July can climb quite high, so time your visit for early in the mornings.
This zoo has a wide variety of animals, including giraffes and exotic birds with daily animal shows and feeding times.
It opens from 9 am to 6 pm and tickets cost 17.50 euros for adults, and 9.50 euros for kids (2 – 12 years old). You can get your tickets online here or at the gates.

Another great choice for families is Aphrodite Waterpark, which offers an assortment of slides, lazy rivers and wave pools perfect for cooling off from the July heat.
How to Get to Paphos
Getting to Paphos is a breeze, whether you’re coming from within Cyprus or from abroad!

Paphos has its own International Airport (PFO) which is well-connected to numerous European cities with direct flights.
Many budget airlines like Ryanair operate out of Paphos, making it an affordable destination. From the airport, the city center is just a 20-minute drive away.
You can catch a taxi or hop on a bus for a quick and easy transfer.
